If Dogs Could Send Text Messages...

I'm not a pet owner. A lifetime full of extreme allergies to nearly anything that moves eliminates it as an option. But I think the idea of a dog trying to communicate through the already truncated format of text messages is likely the funniest thing I'll see today.

Ice Typography

Canadian artist Nicole Dextras has created an amazing series of three-dimensional words fabricated by hand in ice. The installations, "speak to how the viewer’s gaze frames and informs the landscape. The installations have varied from 8-foot high ice letters on the Yukon River to 18-inch high letters set in downtown Toronto."

You know when you go to an artist's website or museum, and they have their artist statement or exhibit explaination, and it's full of nice fancy language? Those are hard to write. One, because you're in a museum, and you have to sound smart; and two, it's hard to write about a visceral, sensory experience.
