Ande Whall is one-man shop and independent denim designer from New Zealand. He recently posted his process of making a pair of jeans, from receiving the rolled denim from Japan, cutting each piece by hand, sewing the pockets and stitches and fastening the rivets and buttons. The number of steps isn't surprising, but what's most fascinating is the amount of work spent on the llttle details: the pockets, the fly, the waist band. Though the legs are a good 75% of the pants, they only take a fraction of the effort.
