Hello, ManMakers! I thought I might share some good news: I got married on Saturday.
Well, sorta. I actually got legally married at 8:30 on a Monday morning in April (tax day!), but two days ago, we threw a huge Christmas-y bash with all our friends and family to celebrate.
It was perfect. No stress, full of merriness and holiday joy, loads of tasty food and homemade goodies and cocktails, and plenty of DIY and hand-crafted decor. We held it in an art gallery space, and it was about as festive as could be. Ever since I was a little Chris, I've wanted a Christmas-y wedding, and this was exactly what we'd both hoped for.
Instead of a ceremony where we just stood still while people looked at us, we wanted to interact a bit with our guests, so we told stories and made jokes, exchanged wedding bands, and even sang a song together. All of our favorite people were there, happy to help set up and keep things running DIY-style, and I loved every minute of it. So, an extra special thank you to all who showed up early and stayed late to help make the festivities merry and bright. And another to those who traveled from all sorts of far away to celebrate with us. It means a ton.
I'm still getting used to the ring, but being married? It's pretty awesome.
