The World’s Largest Wood Type
Over the past year I’ve developed quite a fascination with printmaking: letterpress, woodcut, screenprinting…the list goes on. Never before, however, have I seen printing at such a large scale.
Nick Sherman created this 8-foot tall set of wood type (that’s 6,912 points, but who’s counting?) for the Wood Type Evolved exhibition at Columbia College.
I would love to see exactly how Nick inked the type and printed it onto paper. He must have one heck of a large brayer lying around!
