The Original LEGO Patent from 1958
When I first saw this picture of the original LEGO patent from 1958, I couldn’t help but marvel at how complex it makes a single brick appear. I mean, I realize patents need to be thorough…but wow.
However, this design by Godtfred Kirk Christiansen was spot on. In fact, LEGOs from 1958 are still compatible with ones today. Seriously, how many toy makers can legitimately say that their original design was so perfect that over half a century later, the basic components haven’t needed to be improved? Kudos, LEGO.
