Our Favorite Pumpkin of the Year: The TMNT Krang-O-Lantern
I haven’t carved a pumpkin in years. I didn’t really like doing it as a kid, and I especially don’t like doing it now. Will I clean a sugar pumpkin out and cook with it? Absolutely. But a decorative job? For some reason…not for me.
Which is why I’m especially appreciative when some inspired home squash artist comes up with a super creative idea, and this year’s winner (says me): The Krang-O-Lantern, a pumpkinized portrait of the squirmy pink abdomen-bound bad guy from Dimension X in The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Actual Krang is carved from (you guessed it) a watermelon, wedged inside an actual pumpkin.
It’s these kinds of these that make Halloween still exciting when you’re a grown-up. Great job, Mike.
