How To: Make Your Own High Protein Energy Drink
A few months ago, we bought a huge bag of chia seed and have been adding it to just about everything for a great protein boost. The small seeds pack a big chunk of energy, so mixing up this drink is a great way to keep up with the day minus the over-caffeinated jitters. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get the overwhelming urge to crawl under my desk and take an afternoon nap. When I feel that glorious caffeinated buzz fade with the morning hours, I find the need to reach for a fresh boost, but generally a cup of coffee or standard energy drink leave me jittery in the evening. The folks over at Beard and Bonnet put together this interesting chia seed drink with a few ingredients including some essential oils. I’m not sure the seeds, which have a bit of a slimy feel when wet are the ideal texture to suck down in a drink, but it’s worth a try if the energy boost holds up to the test.
